Hey Hey! It’s Friday!

Hello hello! Hope you all had a glorious week!

First up, before we get rolling, I am so excited that we are only 3 weeks away from the Fall version of the 30 Outfits in 30 Days Challenge! I’m already starting to go through my clothes to figure out what I’d like to include in the 30 items. If you’d like to catch up with my last challenge, start with this post.

If you are interested in joining in with me, I’ll be kicking off with my choices on October 2! Prepare yourself!

1. Seriously, these last two weeks felt like 5 weeks, and I’m pooped. It seemed like every personal event, work deadline, major blog series and church commitment coincided with this week. I’m just trying to get to Friday night, y’all. I mentioned on Wednesday that I was just failing at blogging, left and right. Your comments were just so sweet and encouraging! So thank you! I consider blogging my hobby, but I have so enjoyed making friends through this!

2. I got 2 new shirts from Boden, and I’m just so excited to wear them in the 30×30 challenge! Although, I posted on Instagram that one of them had a not so Mommy Friendly tag. Le sigh…

3. Elizabeth turned 11 Months yesterday! Yippee! She has decided to celebrate by getting a cold. Poor thing! Which meant she wasn’t enthused about taking her pictures…

4. It’s finally starting to feel like Fall around here (early Fall, anyway). It’s been cooler and we’ve had lovely rainy days. Even when it was warm, the humidity felt lower. I even got a small glimpse of Fall on one of our walks!

5. I signed up for the Mug Swap over at But First, Coffee, and was lucky enough to get a chance to swap with the hostess, Kallie! I received mine earlier in the week. She sent me a 2 mug set and some Autumn Tea that smells like Autumn in a mug. Not to mention its a flavored tea that’s a black tea. A rare thing!

Anyway, that was my week! It felt like a lot of grumbling. Sorry about that! (vacation is coming… vacation is coming…)

Let me know what you’ve been up to in the comments below!  Have a great weekend!

See It, Pin It, Do It! | A Pinterest Challenge

Pinterest Challenge | Cup of Tea blog

Oh man, I am so excited for this series!

A few weeks ago, Anne at In Residence started a new Link Up series called Pin to Present. It is a great place to pin any posts on projects you’ve done that were originally inspired from Pinterest.

Awesome, right?

Well, I quickly realized that, besides my dinner ideas, I haven’t done anything that was inspired by Pinterest!

I know I’m not the only one that has board after board of amazing desserts, cute DIY projects, and sweet crafts.  But do you ever do them?  I know I don’t!

So, inspired by Anne’s new link up, I decided I should actually tackle some of those pins!  And then, BONUS! I can actually join the link up 🙂 Haha!

Each Tuesday, during the month of September, I’ll be tackling some amazing Pinterest inspiration!

I’ll finally have baby-approved necklaces thanks to this Easy DIY Teething Necklace how-to from Lollygag Learning.

I’ve been eyeing the Anthropologie Atom bowls for so long, but couldn’t justify the prices.  Thankfully, there is this: Anthropologie-inspired Atom Art Bowls from Lolly Jane.

I’m not too crafty, but making my own coffee filter flowers from Two Shades of Pink sounds like fun!

And finally, who wouldn’t want to make these Easy No Bake Peanut Butter Cups from Musings From a Stay At Home Mom.

I’ve been collecting other fun DIY and food ideas to tackle on my See It, Pin It, Do It Pinterest board.  Leave a comment for what you’d like to see next!

Menu Monday – Favorite Desserts Spotted on Pinterest

Favorite Recipes from Pinterest | Cup of Tea blog

So we’re currently galavanting around the Michigan countryside, so no need for our usual Menu Monday post.

Instead, I thought I would gather my favorite, drool-worthy dessert recipes from Pinterest.  I’ve made all of these myself, and can attest to the Yummy Factor of these recipes!

Homemade Hostess Cupcakes from BrownEyed Baker

Homemade Hostess Cupcakes – Recipe from Browneyedbaker.com

I made these cupcakes for the first time for an Olympics Opening Ceremony party.  There are MANY steps to this, but the payoff was absolutely delicious!  I’m definitely making these again the next time there’s an ‘Merica themed party!!

Mint Oreo Ice Cream Cake from Life, Love Sugar

Mint Oreo Brownie Ice Cream Cake – Recipe from lifeloveandsurgar.com

I was so intimidated when my husband said, for his birthday, he’d like a homemade ice cream cake!  I had never made one before.  When I found this recipe on Pinterest, I thought it looked easy enough.  So right!!  And the combo of brownie and Oreo was so yummy!

Buckeyes from Cooks Country

Homemade Buckeye Candies – From cookscountry.com

Unfortunately, like most Cook’s Illustrated & Cook’s Country recipes, you must be a “subscriber” to access them…. so obnoxious. This recipe is similar.  Anyway, these Buckeyes are so delicious!! I make a huge batch of these for the holidays, or when my husband wants a tasty treat.  I keep these in the freezer when it’s just us consuming them.  They’re actually really good frozen!  Plus, since  I’m from Ohio, these make my heart smile.

Martha Stewart's Angel Food Cake

Angel Food Cake – From Martha Stewart

I am a sucker for Angel Food Cake.  I love the light, airy texture.  Not to mention the fact that it’s fat free.  I make a simple sauce with strawberries, and drizzle over top of the cake.  I usually just make an angel food cake from a box (always a winner!) but decided to try a good ol’ Martha Stewart version, just for kicks.  It was fab!! Now, in a pinch, the box version works as an easy dessert!  But if you’re wanting to roll up your sleeves and make one from scratch, try this one!  (I didn’t make the elderberry sauce the recipe describes.  Please, Martha Stewart – where does one find elderberries when you don’t live in Maine?)

I’ll be back to the regular Menu Monday next week.  In the meantime, if you’re looking for other yummy dessert recipes, check out my Desserts Pinterest board!

Menu Monday!

Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend.  I can’t believe how fast it went!  We were up in Virginia Beach, visiting my in-laws. So much fun!  Elizabeth definitely enjoyed her first Easter.

So here’s what we are eating for dinner this week!  I’ve been exploring Pinterest for some food ideas (since I mentioned last week I need more variety than just my Fields of Greens cookbook).  Now that I look at the menu written out, I realized this is the first time we are NOT having tacos.  SHOCKED!

For more information on how I menu plan, see my previous blog post!
